Abstract: There are many studies for reducing fuel consumption and vehicles emissions as weight decrease of components as well as implementation of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies, as the usage of electromechanical brake booster vacuum-independent in braking system. It is essential to validate new technologies by collecting data on vehicles with precision and consistency. Test analysis can be done completely and significantly only if there is repeatability and accuracy in data collection. The proposal of this paper is to present the vehicle instrumentation for emission tests in the evaluation of the reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions with the application of an electromechanical brake booster. The vehicle instrumentation enabled data collection: vehicle dynamics from CAN network, electrical system by vehicle battery, generator, and the product under investigation and, fuel consumption through a mass flow meter. The results showed reduction of fuel consumption and emissions without impacts neither electrical system nor vehicle performance.
