QUANTIFICAÇÃO DE ADITIVOS DETERGENTES E DISPERSANTES EM GASOLINAS POR TERMOGRAVIMETRIA

RESUMO:

Although additized gasoline C has been on sale in the domestic market for years, there is no reference method published by ANP for the quantitative analysis of the dispersing detergent additives. This situation is compounded by the fact that they are sold by manufacturers as additive packages whose composition is a trade secret. We propose a method for the quantification of these additives in gasoline using the atmospheric distillation technique for the pre-concentration of the additives, and then their analysis by Thermogravimetry (TG). Five samples were prepared and analyzed at concentrations of 150 to 5000 mg.kg-1. There were also analyzed gasoline without additive, the pure additive and fifteen commercial samples collected in gas stations. From the concentration rate of the additive obtained in the distillation and the loss of mass related to its active principles found in the TG, it was possible to quantify the dispersing detergent additives present in gasoline, with a mean relative error of 1.6 to 13.3%. Its ease of execution and low cost makes this method a very promising means of filling the gap that is the non-existence of a standard method for the analysis of additives in gasoline, suitable for analysis of any additized gasoline, regardless of their additive packages.
